Submission Standards

Failure Modes accepts student-authored governance work products that meet the following standards:

  • Clear title and concise abstract that summarize the failure mode.
  • Sources for factual claims (citations or attachments).
  • Actionable procedural fixes rather than partisan advocacy.
  • No personally identifying information about private individuals.
  • PDFs must be legible, complete, and authored by the submitter.
  • Use institutional tone: analytical, specific, and neutral.
  • No moral condemnation language, political endorsements, or calls to action.
  • Submissions are not publications; editorial review applies scarcity and selectivity.

Submissions that do not meet these standards may be returned for edits or rejected.
